Rensselaer’s ACCEL and ACCEL+ programs provide ambitious students with the opportunity to complete their degrees in a shorter timeframe:
- ACCEL: Earn a bachelor’s degree in three years.
- ACCEL+: Earn a BS and MS within four years (co-terminal degree).
Students work with academic advisors to develop a personalized plan that ensures success while maximizing opportunities.
ACCEL (Three-Year Bachelor’s Degree)
- Open to students in the Schools of Engineering, Science, Management, and Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
- Students complete their undergraduate degree in three years by leveraging AP/transfer credits and summer coursework.
- Students must participate in early ARCH (summer after first year) and complete the ARCH semester away (summer after second year).
- Eligibility: Students must bring in at least 12 AP/transfer credits in STEM or other relevant fields before their first year and maintain good academic standing.
ACCEL+ (Four-Year BS/MS Program)
- Allows students to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in four years.
- Students apply separately for a co-terminal degree following standard co-terminal application processes.
- Master’s programs may offer additional financial aid opportunities.

Application & Enrollment Process
- Opt-In Deadline: February 15, 2025 (for early registration and early ARCH participation).

Financial Considerations
- Students only pay tuition for semesters they are enrolled for credit.
- Standard financial aid remains available for all undergraduate semesters.
