Accelerated Degree Programs

Rensselaer’s ACCEL and ACCEL+ programs provide ambitious students with the opportunity to complete their degrees in a shorter timeframe:

  • ACCEL: Earn a bachelor’s degree in three years.
  • ACCEL+: Earn a BS and MS within four years (co-terminal degree).

Students work with academic advisors to develop a personalized plan that ensures success while maximizing opportunities.

ACCEL (Three-Year Bachelor’s Degree)

  • Open to students in the Schools of Engineering, Science, Management, and Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
  • Students complete their undergraduate degree in three years by leveraging AP/transfer credits and summer coursework.
  • Students must participate in early ARCH (summer after first year) and complete the ARCH semester away (summer after second year).
  • Eligibility: Students must bring in at least 12 AP/transfer credits in STEM or other relevant fields before their first year and maintain good academic standing.

ACCEL+ (Four-Year BS/MS Program)

  • Allows students to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in four years.
  • Students apply separately for a co-terminal degree following standard co-terminal application processes.
  • Master’s programs may offer additional financial aid opportunities.
